What is the difference between a medium-firm and firm mattress?

After a few questions, we’ll guide you through the return process. If you decide to return the mattress, you'll be responsible for sending it back to our factory.

What is the difference between memory foam mattress, hybrid mattress, and natural latex mattress?

  • Memory Foam Mattress: Contours to your body for pressure relief and reduces motion transfer, offering a softer feel and a more snug sleep.
  • Hybrid Mattress: Combines the support of pocket coils with the comfort of foam layers, providing a balance of support and softness with added durability and breathability.
  • Natural Latex Mattress: Made from eco-friendly, hypoallergenic latex, offering a supportive, resilient feel with natural breathability and temperature regulation. It's firmer than memory foam with a bit of bounce.

How do I choose the right mattress based on my sleeping position and firmness preference?

Selecting the right mattress depends on both your sleeping position and the firmness you prefer:

  • Side Sleepers: Opt for a medium-soft to medium-firm mattress (memory foam or hybrid) to relieve pressure on the hips and shoulders while providing adequate support.
  • Back Sleepers: A medium-firm mattress (memory foam, hybrid, or latex) is ideal to support the spine's natural alignment and offer a balanced mix of comfort and firmness.
  • Stomach Sleepers: Choose a firm mattress (hybrid or natural latex) to prevent the body from sinking too deeply and to maintain proper spinal support.

Consider your firmness preference: softer mattresses offer more cushioning, while firmer mattresses provide stronger support. Choose based on your comfort level and sleeping needs.

What is the Twin/Single XL mattress?

The Twin/Single XL mattress size is 38×80(inch), the area is 21.1 sf.. It is 5″ longer than a standard Twin/Single. Because of this added length, Twin/Single XL is a good option for taller children or teens, and single adults.

What is the Twin/Single mattress?

What is the Toddler mattress?

The Toddler mattress size is 27×52(inch), the area is 9.8 sf.. The toddler mattress is actually the same size as the crib mattress, but may be a little softer. Toddler mattresses are designed for older kids, aged 2-5 years old. What is the Crib mattress?

The Crib mattress size is 27×52(inch), the area is 9.8 sf., which is a firmer mattress that nestles within the rails of a standard crib. Crib mattresses are smaller than a Twin-sized mattresses and are usually thinner as well.

What is a split mattress?

Split mattress is usually on Eastern King and California King mattress. They  are the same sizes as their non-split counterpart, but it’s divided into two mattresses. This design can be beneficial when using an adjustable base or to limit motion transfer from partner movements.

Is the California King mattress bigger than the Eastern King?

The California King mattress is 4″ narrowed, but 4″ longer as well. Looking at square footage surface area, the Eastern King mattress is technically bigger than the California King (42.2 sf. vs. 42.0 sf.). However, for most sleepers, the California King will feel bigger because it is longer.

What are the different types of mattresses?

Mattresses come in various types, each with a unique feel. Coil mattresses use metal springs inside to provide support and bounce, often topped with padding for comfort. Foam mattresses range from basic foam to memory foam and latex, offering contouring or bounce. Hybrids combine coils and memory foam for balanced support.

What's better, coil or foam mattresses?

It all comes down to personal preference. Foam and coil mattresses feel different, but both can offer great comfort and similar durability if they’re in the same price range.

Foam tends to trap more heat, while coils allow better airflow. If you’re a hot sleeper, coil may be the better choice. Otherwise, room temperature and light bedding usually do the trick.

What type of coils are there in a mattress?

The two most popular coil types are continuous innerspring and pocket coil.

  1. Continuous innerspring coils are made from one wire wound into coils, making these mattresses bouncier and more affordable but with more partner movement.
  2. Pocket coils, the most popular type, are individually wrapped and move independently, reducing motion transfer so partners don’t feel each other’s movements.

What are the types of foam mattresses?

Foam mattresses can be separated into 3 basic categories: Foam, Memory Foam, and Latex.

  1. Foam mattresses typically have a firm core with a softer layer on top for comfort.
  2. Memory foam mattresses add a memory foam layer that contours to your body, varying in thickness and density.
  3. Latex mattresses are bouncier, more durable, and can be made partly or entirely of latex.

Are Pillow-Top mattresses softer than traditional mattresses?

Pillow-Top and Euro-Top mattresses are usually softer than traditional ones because they have an extra comfort layer on top. Traditional mattresses tend to be firmer to prevent feeling the coils, and softer traditional mattresses may wear out faster. If you want a softer mattress that lasts, choose Pillow-Top or Euro-Top.

Should I get a firmer mattress or a softer mattress?

Firmness is a personal choice that depends on your sleeping position and comfort needs. Side sleepers often prefer softer mattresses to reduce pressure on shoulders and hips, while back and stomach sleepers usually benefit from firmer support. Keep in mind that all mattresses soften over time, so very soft mattresses may lose support faster. Ultimately, choose the firmness that feels best for you and provides the support you need.

How does my sleep position affect the mattress I should buy?

The way you sleep influences the best mattress choice: stomach and back sleepers often prefer firmer mattresses for better support, while side sleepers may choose softer mattresses for extra cushioning and pressure relief on shoulders and hips. Traditional mattresses are usually firmer and tend to suit stomach and back sleepers better.

Should I try a mattress before I buy it?

It’s important to try out a mattress before buying to ensure it’s comfortable and suits your needs. While reading reviews and specifications online can help, you won’t truly know how a mattress feels until you lie down on it. Since we spend about 8 hours a day sleeping, making the right choice is a crucial investment that affects your sleep and daily life. Taking the time to test different mattresses helps you find the best one for you.

How to try a mattress in a mattress store?

When visiting a mattress store, it can feel awkward lying down, especially with a salesperson nearby, but it’s important to try the mattresses properly to find the best fit. If you feel uncomfortable, ask the salesperson to give you some space. Don’t just sit on the edge—lie down fully with your feet up and try different sleeping positions, just as you would at home. Take your time, spending several minutes on each mattress and trying as many as you can before making your decision.

What are the signs that it is time to replace the mattress?

Depending on your personal preference, there are a number of factors that may come into play when deciding to get a new mattress.

  1. When your mattress no longer provides a good night’s sleep
  2. When it sags in the middle
  3. When the coils or springs feel uncomfortable
  4. When you wake up with a sore back or stiff muscles
  5. When you want to upgrade to a better mattress
  6. When your mattress is too soft or not firm enough
  7. When it becomes noisy or squeaky
  8. When your mattress is 8 to 10 years old
  9. When it has many stains
  10. When your doctor recommends replacing it
  11. When you want a bigger mattress

What factors are most important in a new mattress?

The most important factor you should think about the mattress is the suitable firmness of mattress. Firmness is king factor with 86% of sleepers identifying it as a critically important factor. All shoppers agreed that transparency in mattress construction and materials as well as the health benefits of a mattress also played a role in whether or not they felt promoted to buy a mattress.

What mattress size Is right for me?

Not sure which mattress size is right for you? Consider a few key questions before deciding: How big is your room? Who will be sleeping on the mattress? What’s your usual sleeping position?

What size mattress should I buy?

There are some common mattress sizes as following (unit: inch):

  1. Crib (27×52) best for infants or children under 3
  2. Toddler  (27×52) best for toddler (ages: 2-5 years old)
  3. Twin (38×75) best for children
  4. Twin XL (38×80) best for tall children or single adults
  5. Full (45×75) best for children, single adult, couples
  6. Queen (60×80) best for couples

Do the mattresses need a box spring?

If you need a box spring depends on the bed frame you have. The platform bed which always has 13 to 15 slats doesn't need a box spring or foundation, but the bed frame with 3 to 5 slats. needs a box spring or foundation.  Maple Mattress' warranty policy states that mattresses should be placed on a supportive bed frame.

What are the different types of box springs?

Box springs are typically made of wood, metal wire, or a combination of both.

Wooden box springs tend to be heavier and may start to squeak over time as the wood expands or contracts with temperature and humidity changes. This is usually an easy fix—pressing the parts together firmly can stop the noise.

Box springs that include metal wire usually have a wooden frame at the base. The metal components are more prone to bending, especially if you often sit or step on the edges of the bed.

Overall, all box springs serve the same basic function: to support your mattress and keep it off the ground. Differences in quality and longevity are generally minor.

What to do if my box spring does not fit up my stairs?

Box springs are rigid and cannot be bent, which can make moving them more challenging. That’s why all king-size box springs come in two pieces—called a split box spring—so they’re easier to maneuver. Queen box springs are also available in split versions. If you're having trouble getting a full queen box spring into your space, opting for a split version can make the process much simpler.

Do I need a new box spring with my new mattress?

A box spring adds support and height to your mattress but isn’t always necessary. If your bed frame has strong slats or a solid platform, you may not need one. However, it’s useful for added height or when the frame lacks support. If your old box spring is still in good shape, it can be reused with a new mattress.

What is the difference between Euro-Top and Pillow-Top?

Euro-Top and Pillow-Top mattresses differ mainly in stitching—Euro-Tops are flush with the edges, while Pillow-Tops look like a pillow sewn on top. Both come in various firmness levels, and the difference is mostly aesthetic, so focus on comfort over the label.

What is Combo foam?

Combo foam includes a huge range of mattress types, but at its core, all of these mattresses have a layer or layers of comfort foam and a base of higher-density support foam.

What is poly foam?

Poly foam is the shortened name for polyurethane foams. Poly foam offers a faster response time and is oftentimes stacked with other foams to balance out the feel.

What is a Combo foam mattress?

Combo foam mattress uses a blend of memory foam, latex foam, poly foam, and support foam. Using a combination of foams, these mattresses can generate a unique feel by picking up on the pros of each material and balances out the cons.

What Is memory foam?

Memory foam, also known as viscoelastic polyurethane foam, is a type of poly foam that combines elasticity with flow-like behavior, meaning it molds to pressure and slowly returns to its original shape once the pressure is removed. While all memory foam is polyurethane foam, not all polyurethane foam has the viscoelastic qualities of memory foam. Memory foam tends to feel denser, offers a deeper contour or "hug," and has a slower response time compared to standard poly foam.

Types of memory foam

Traditional memory foam, Open-cell memory foam, Gel-infused memory foam, Plant-based memory foam, and Copper-infused memory foam.

What is traditional memory foam?

Traditional memory foam has a similar composition as the original memory foam used for mattresses in the ’90s. It molds to the body shape and takes some of the pressure off your joints but tends to trap heat.

What Is Open-cell memory foam?

Open-cell memory foam allows for better airflow than traditional memory foam. Its composition is similar to that of polyfoam.

What Is Gel-infused memory foam?

Gel-infused memory foam features small gel microbeads to prevent overheating.
